On 10 October, the Italian town of Castelnuovo Rangone, in the province of Modena, hosted a special event celebrating the opening of a new wood dedicated to Zanasi Group founder Umberto Zanasi.
The ceremony was enriched by a speech from his daughter Simona Zanasi, who remembered her father’s deep bond with the territory and his constant commitment to sustainability:
“I am happy to be here with you today, to open this new woodland, which is dedicated to my father, Umberto Zanasi, who always believed in the power of people to make a difference. His ties to this area ran deep as it was here that he passed his days dreaming big and here that he made his dream come true”.
Developed in association with Mutina Arborea, the project led to the planting of 167 trees, with the aim of improving air quality, protecting local biodiversity, and offering a rest and refreshment area for cyclists on the nearby EuroVelo 7 cycle path.
The Castelnuovo Rangone wood, which will be looked after by Mutina Arborea over the next four years, is a first very real step towards environmental redevelopment and demonstrates Zanasi Group’s focus on this key issue.
