The 32nd Ferrari Challenge, Europe 2024, Trofeo Pirelli roars into action at Mugello with 70 contestants, all ready to fight it out on the track. Among the top contenders for the trophy is the new Ferrari 296 Challenge, the ninth car in the history of single-brand vehicles produced by the house of the Prancing Horse. With the competition already heating up in the class trials, the CDP made a shining start in its debut in Race 1.
In the hospitality section, near the pit area, Zanasi was showcasing the various attributes of the members of its group through a range of installations, including video displays. Throughout the weekend, over 300 guests were offered presentations from Carrozzeria Zanasi, SIM Maranello, SCP (rapid prototyping), TURN (wrapping and detailing), Peluso Automotive (carriers), MOTOR SERVICE and Atelier Zanasi.
Trofeo Pirelli Am: Zanasi dominates the qualifiers at Mugello but is forced to surrender to Claus Zibrandtsen and Hendrik Viol
A weekend full of emotions. The events at Mugello ensured the crowds of fans at the circuit were never without entertainment or adrenaline. The Ferrari Challenge Europe, Trofeo Pirelli class, once again confirmed its standing as one of the most exciting and competitive car championships in the world.
For the Trofeo Pirelli Am class, the top in the Ferrari Challenge, Marco Zanasi got off to a great start at the wheel of the 296 Challenge of the CDP – Pinetti Motorsport team, taking pole position in the first race with a time of 1:48.745. Race 1 was exhilarating and packed with dramatic twists, with Zanasi fighting through to the last lap against Claus Zibrandtsen of the Formula Racing team. In the end, the Danish driver got the better of the Italian, taking home the win. It was an unlucky start, however, for Max Mugelli, who completed only 13 laps, so not enough to earn any of the first points available at the end of Race 1.
As for Race 2, the win went to pole position holder Hendrik Viol, who took home his first win in the Ferrari Challenge, ahead of Marco Zanasi (CDP – Pinetti Motorsport) and Claus Zibrandtsen (Formula Racing).
